PIP Review - Needs Increased - Pros and Cons was created by Fusion77
I have an existing Enhanced Daily Living (15 points) and Enhanced Mobility (12 points) claim which was last reviewed in October 2022 and renewed with the same award. I have received the updated AR1 PIP Review Form and drafted my responses detailing evidence for some activities that were not previously awarded points and also where some needs have increased qualifying for a descriptor with a higher number of points. Based on my draft and evidence, I believe the award descriptors met would result in an uplift Enhanced Daily Living (29 points) and the same Enhanced Mobility (12 points).
Is it worth my putting my case forward for further points for existing and new activities when I already have an Enhanced/Enhanced award? What are the pros and cons of taking this approach?
For example, would a PIP case manager be more likely to refer the review to HAAS to consider the new information and evidence possibly resulting in an assessment? Or am I better off focusing on putting forward evidence to maintain my existing award as it stands?
Any experience of this scenario would be greatly appreciated. I have had a benefits advisor review my draft and feedback as I did three years ago for the last review but I am having a slight hesitation sending off the AR1 form and evidence wondering if I am inviting more bureaucracy than necessary. But there is also a part of me that wants all my health conditions and their impact to be recognised including new diagnoses and increased needs for existing conditions.
Thank you in advance for your input.

Hi Fusion77
I'm afraid this is not something we can advise you on. You need to put in any information that you feel is relevant and that the DWP needs to know. We don't know your case or anything about you, so we couldn't say what you should include or exclude, or what decisions a PIP case manager might make upon reading that information.
If I had additional issues since my last review, I would include them, but that's me. The best advice I can give you is to follow your gut instinct.

Thank you for your prompt response.
I welcome anyone who has experience of having an Enhanced Daily Living and Enhanced Mobility PIP claim that had increased needs / new health conditions since their previous review and whether or not they included the increased needs, new conditions and/or activities/descriptors not previously recognised in their review form. And what was the outcome if you did include the new information and evidence.
