Hello , at the moment I am on PIP ( both elements full award for ongoing period) INCOME BASED ESA and am being told to migrate to Universal Credit before July. My last WCA was years ago at home and i was given a letter saying that I would never be asked to attend anymore WCA unless my health condition changed (it never has) During these years my wife has been working (with DWP knowledge) for up to 20 hours per week. (We always kept it just under the 24 hours a week allowed) We ALWAYS send in payslips. Our ESA payment has been adjusted up and down depending on the hours she worked. My questions are…. **what will happen after I migrate to UC as regards my wife working those hours? **Will she still be allowed to work up to 24 hours a week before it affects anything ? **Is there a MINIMUM that she will HAVE to work ? Would she be allowed to not perform or seek ANY work with me being on full PIP etc? Don’t het me wrong ,she wants to continue her work of up 24 hours a week. I am aged 57 she is 56 . Many thanks
You wife may find her self in the All Work Requirements Conditionality Group. This means that a Work Coach may instruct her to look for work of 35 hours per week or face a Benefits Sanction. The Work Coach has the discretion to reduce the hours to less than 35 if she has caring commitments. You don't need to send in payslips as UC gets digital payroll information direct.
