I phoned the PIP line to request an extension to fill in my PIP 2 form due to my disability (I am dictating it to my husband due to my disability). The lady said yes, but when I asked her name she would only tell me her first name saying that "we don't give out our last name". When I asked if confirmation of the new date would be sent to me - she said she thought I might get a text message but that she didn't know, that they "don't get told" about this. I'm not feeling confident that I will definitely be okay to have the extra two weeks. Am I worrying unecessarily? Should she have given me her last name?
They don't usually send out a letter to confirm an extension, and what the call handler told you is true - they don't give out their surnames. If you were told you have an extension - you have an extension.
