Hi Paul
When you receive your UC payment, click on your home page and then download how UC has been awarded, depending on your circumstances UC is made up of elements and then DWP will make deductions for advance payment if you had one and any overpayments. if you disagree with anything you need to add a note to your journal or ask for a mandatory reconsideration on your journal..
In regards to your last but one paragraph, you are correct, initially DWP were regularly making mistakes and asking claimants for a fit note, this was quickly revised and a note was sent out quoting the correct regulations and procedure, I do not come across this error very often now.
