Moving from ESA TO UC

I got a message 2 days ago:

Money for your rent will be paid to your landlord

From 5 September 2025 we'll pay £842.86 of your Universal Credit to your landlord once a month. If your rent is more than this, you'll need to pay the difference.

Today received first statement for Assessment period: 30 June to 29 July 2025 to be paid on 5th Aug, it said:
Payment to your landlord
minus‑ £842.86
We currently pay this to your landlord towards your rent.

I am very confused, has the money been taken incorrectly for this month? Or does the 5th Sep pay date to landlord is based on this assessment period? I am worried they might have incorrectly taken housing for this first statement when in fact should have been for next assessment period

Hi stan

Your question is outside the remit of the forum, but I will answer your question

Your next assessment period is 30 July to 29 August DWP then pays your UC 7 days later, 5th Sept.

You need to check how much you receive in August as the direct payment may not have been set up for when you receive your UC payment. If your check your UC schedule your UC award in August will show your whole UC award without any deductions.
