hi gary in response to getting class 1 or class 3 contributions , what is the difference once i reach pension age ,will class 1 entitle me to a higher rate state pension ?
It makes no difference once you reach state pension age as you no longer pay any national insurance although there are rumors floating around that this Government maybe changing that.
There is now only one rate of state pension called New State Pension, providing you have paid enough NI contributions.
