Hi
I am taking voluntary early retirement and will get a lump sum of 34.000 is this disregarded as capital or is it counted as capitol and will they close down my claim. Of universal credit.

In case you are not aware, your real name appears to be showing in the forum, if you want to change this then follow the instructions in the following FAQ

It will be classed as capital and your UC will close once you go over £16k.

You need to seek specialist advice from your local Welfare Rights Organisation: advicelocal.uk where they can take all your circumstances into consideration when giving you advice.
