ESA to UC was created by spitfire77
I would be grateful if you are to advise. I am about to complete my ESA income related to UC with the grateful help of your website. My husband is joint claimant on the claim. I have the relevant id check info, eg, passport and debit card. He has a debit card an out of date passport and is awaiting a new driving licence for over 70 with medical condition. This we have been told by the dvla will not be with us for some weeks. The deadline for the claim is 19 October 2025. I understand i can arrange a biographical telephone call but tried contacting UC which it seems is for someone who already has an account with them. Please can you help us with the best way forward. Will the form allow me to complete my information and also add my husband’s link number without his complete id information. Many thanks

Hi spitfire77
You cannot pre-empt the UC ID check. As your husband has an expired passport and is waiting for a new driving licence then the automated ID check won't function. But you can use the expired passport at a face to face interview at the Jobcentre as long as the photo is recognisable.
You cannot arrange a Biographical Test. It will be upto the UC agent if they want to use one.

Hi spitfire77
You can get help from Citizens Advice Help to Claim and their phone number is on page 2 of your Managed Migration letter.
Here is a recommendation from a Forum member:-
