Decision text no assessment was created by karenwb9
Hi all
I filled out the review form re any changes in june of this year, i had a text from dwp to say they had received my form. I had another text 2 weeks ago to say they were progressing with my review and I may need an assessment, which is what usually happens. Today I have received a text from the dept. Stating a decision has been made and I will receive the decision in writing in the next 2 weeks, not to ring. I haven’t even had an assessment, should I be concerned? Has anyone else had this ?

Hi karenwb9
There are four types of assessments for PIP - paper-based, telephone, video or face-to-face. So you have had an assessment - they have done a paper-based one. Some people request a paper-based assessment and some are given them without a request. Many claimants are relieved if they haven't had to speak to an assessor. You should not be unduly worried - about a quarter of assessments are paper-based. Be aware that they probably won't have done an assessment report. They used to always write a report when they did paper-based reviews, but this hasn't happened since the pandeimic. Some members have put in a subject access request to see if there are any 'notes' on how the decision was reached.
I hope you get the outcome you want.
