P45 issued no warning for contributions related esa was created by Rosanne
I’ve received a P45 saying my contribution based esa has ended. I’m in the support group and had no letters about migration. Has this happened to anyone else?

Hi Rosanne
P45s from ESA are usually automatically generated by computer. Have you phoned ESA to check that your ESA has not ended?

Same thing happened to me, received it on Saturday. Also have a letter from DWP dated November 2025 that says contributory ESA is switching to New Style ESA wef 10 December 2025, advising that I do not need to do anyting and benefit will continue to be paid into my bank as usual. Like you I am confused and distraught that my benefit may be stopped without warning.
I phoned DWP as David suggested and they confirmed my claim is still open and will contin ue to be paid as normal, they were really helpful.
Hope you have the same good outcome Rosanne
