Hi joya

I'm sorry, but we cannot provide the "exact wording" to stop your benefits, as no such wording exists, and there is no law that prevents someone from stopping their claim if they want to.

What the DWP can do is ask a claimant why they want to stop their benefits. For example, if someone has been claiming long-term disability benefits and they inform the DWP they no longer want the benefits, the DWP may ask if their health has improved = to check that no fraud has taken place. In your case, you don't want to be part of the system, and you could put that in your letter asking them to cancel your claim.

It doesn't mean that when someone cancels a claim, they will definitely ask why. When PIP was introduced, there were plenty of people who claimed DLA who didn't choose to apply for PIP. Although the DWP sent out multiple notifications, they didn't try to contact all these people or even look back at their past claims.

If you wish to end your claim, you could put a letter in writing saying something like "I wish to close my claim for [benefit name] effective from [date] because [your reason]" I would stick with the truth that you want to live your life without being part of the system.

I am not claiming that my wording will stop anyone from asking you any questions. You want a guarantee for something that no one can give you. However, Gary suggested that you speak to the CAB, and that is something I would suggest you do, because your question is outside the remit of this forum.
