Hello,

I have been asked to sit on Plus Dane Housing Association - Customer Assurance Panel. This involves 8 annual teams meetings for which I would be expected to read and understand a briefing pack. There are also 2 awaydays visiting sites in the estate of Plus Dane Housing Association.

I am recieving PIP high rate care and mobility, UC and new style ESA.

My question is - in the current climate of demonisation of those of us with disabilities would this voluntary unpaid role be considered evidence of ability to work? I would so much like to be able to "put something back' but fear The department of W&P reaction. Time was this would be encouraged and considered therapeutic. Sad how times have changed.

Thanks in advance for any wisdom and guidance.

Nick.

Hi Dambus

The short answer to your question is No.

10 days a year would consider evidence of ability to work, what happens when you are too ill to attend one of the annual meetings?
