New PIP clm - Gaslit by HAAS HCP ! was created by Sum
Im so annoyed - this isnt my first rodeo in the PIP HAAS assmt ranch - but i still got gaslit
What happened ...... we had the tel assmt after months of chasing to confirm appointee. I've been told i am the appointee, and all calls prior to appt came to me. I dont have the formal ltr atm. Its in the post ..... 😮💨
I feel the HCP didnt follow correct procedure. An hour later than scheduled, the HCP called my son directly. He was surprised and asked her to ring appointee. HCP asked for mobile number with a huff . HCP calls me.
i told her he wanted to go to sleep at the beginning of the call, by the end he was ready to rip into me bec of frustration and anxiety of the questioning and me trying to answer fully and prompt him.
She advised that Clmt had to be present and participate for duration of the call otherwise call would need to be rescheduled . she said rules had changed for assmts.
In my gut i knew this was dodgy advice , but after the number of issues i've had so far, i didnt want to re- schedule and prolong waiting game for the assmt.
i know i shd waiting for outcome ltr and PA4 , but on principle i want to call HCP out on misleading me and son. As result he became irritated and angry by the end he was hitting the wall literally and himself - what do u guys think ?

Hi Sum
I'm not surprised you are angry. I'm angry on your behalf. The whole point of an appointee is that you can speak on their behalf, and many of the assessors keep trying to bypass this. Depending on the outcome, you might want to file a formal complaint. If your son were able to manage his affairs, he wouldn't need an appointee. The paperwork you filled in to be an appointee says that you can speak on their behalf. My advice to all appointees is to refuse to let assessors to speak to the caimant, and when they mutter some complete rubbish about a safeguarding issue - or any other excuse - tell them you will wait until they sort it out. It's rubbish so they always back down. It's complete bullying.
One thing that strikes me, though, is that the HCP was able to phone your son. If you're an appointee, I would remove your son's telephone number from the DWP records, so they can't use it.

i know im not alone in experiencing this and feeling the aftermath. Son doesn't want to talk about it ... understandably.
So here i am venting to you all. thanks for listening and validating my feelings.
i am still seething tbh. i need to approach this with cool head.
Trouble is as time ticks on feelings and anger get subdued. the danger with that is, its tempting to let this unprofessional behaviour go, for the sake of progress and getting to the outcome. Only to discover someone is going thru it bec it wasnt challenged at the onset.
I was going to summarise how the rest of the call was structured etc to give ppl insight but i cant bring myself to recall it beyond the first 15 mins. I recorded the call. Unfortunately the bit were to gave false misleading info was captured:(
