Hello,
With thanks to Benefits and Work, for all your help, support & for just being there 🥰
I just wanted to post about my PIP Review....
I received the review form in mid January 2026.... It then worked out I only had under 3 weeks to send back.
I phoned & received a 2 week extension.
The stress that this form caused me, while already trying to cope with my problems, was immense.
The change in the forms format also caused a lot of extra stress - so many mini questions, within the main questions.
Thinking I was making good progress, only to see I still hadn't addressed some of these mini questions & also how some are worded too - obviously to confuse us & make it more difficult.
I filled out the form & used my laptop to type out Word documents for the questions I answered.
I would always recommend keeping all these documents safely (on external storage devices), so you have them for future reference.
I made good use of my previous PIP forms & info that I'd written, as these are stored safely.
It got to a point where I was so overwhelmed by this form, that I probably rushed the last 2 questions.. I wanted it out of the house & sent back to them 😔
My form & additional printed sheets were sent back on 24th February 2026 by Special Delivery.
Today (24th March - award letter was dated 12th March) I've received a letter from PIP, stating they can award me the standard rate for both daily living & mobility (my award has stayed the same):
My award has also been increased to 3 years (I only usually get 2).
My claim has not been passed on for an assessment, so this is my 1st paper based award.
I now don't have to worry about a future assessment (for the time being), as that would have had to be a home visit or telephone assessment.
Thank you for all the help & advice you give here - the guides are invaluable.
I did resend evidence that I've previously sent, as I don't know for sure what the decision maker still has access to... You have to be happy with what you are sending - just because they say don't send evidence you've previously sent.
Also, I didn't just write "no change" & give no extra information... I gave a good amount of info, relevant to the descriptor/s applicable to me.
Sorry to have rambled on.
Thank you to everyone here ❤️
It's so stressful filling out these forms, when we are already trying to cope with our illnesses day to day.
Good luck to everyone going through this process at the moment - luckily, we can come here & get fantastic help❤️

Hi LucyPosy68
Many congratulations on your successful PIP review. Thank you for taking the time to write a comprehensive post about your experience. It is always interesting to our members to hear how other people have got on throughout the process, and you should give yourself a big pat on the back for handling all the additional stress. Many members will resonate with that feeling of just wanting to get the form out of your house.
I'm glad to hear that you found the guides invaluable and you got the award you were expecting.
