Replied by Adrian on topic PIP just got refused.
Hello,
Just received my assessment report (PA4) form.
Basically without going into detail it goes something like this:
Descriptor: = Can plan and make a journey alone unaided.
Justification for this result: = cannot use public transport, overwhelmed with autism, OCD prevents going out, always has to have wife with him, gets lost everywhere.
Oh and apparently a nurse can assess all of this.
Sorry to sound so negative but the way this form reads is just so stupidly insane.
Anyway, i need to ask a question.
How do i get any medical evidence from my GP?
I have an old letter from 2018 stating i will never work because of my conditions, but this seems to be all i can get because the doctors just will not write me any letters explaining my conditions anymore.
All they will give me is a brief history of medical conditions.
But because i don’t have any mental health people involved with me all the time its as if my conditions aren’t real to them.
I don’t know how to explain myself, but it seems like i have to be in and out of doctors and health units all the time to be believed.
I just don’t know!
Why do i have to keep proving myself and why are doctors so unhelpful?
Thanks for the rant

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Adrian
Most patients when they have a GP's appointment are rationed to 10 minutes and the GP is focusing on the diagnosis and relief through medication etc. But not how the health condition relates to the PIP descriptors. The GP does not see you at home or out and about. This is where testimony from friends, relatives and neighbours can be very valuable. So get whoever you can to write something down about your struggles and you can send this off to PIP as evidence.
Let us know how you get on.
