Hi , I’m helping adult son (late twenties) fill in the AR1 review form, he gets enhanced PIP for both categories for a physical condition and has done since a child. Since the last review he’s had a dx of ADHD & one of depression. The dilemma is if we mention these to any extent, I worry that the case manager will think he’s claiming pip partly due to neurodiversity or mental health and I’ve heard about them cracking down on benefits for that (unfairly of course) so I feel it might be better not to muddy the waters, and concentrate on the physical condition as per the past. What do you think?
I'm afraid this is a decision that you are going to have to make for yourself. If I say don't mention it, and for some reason he doesn't get enhanced for both again, you will believe I made an error. If I say to mention it, and they subsequently mark him down, you will again think it is my error. If you don't mention it now, they may think it strange if you need to mention it in the future. Go with your gut instinct.
