PIP review was created by olly349
Hi, I had a text to say I would receive a PIP review form and the form arrived today. I am on the autism spectrum with OCD and I get overwhelmed by benefit forms. I get confused as to where to start with everything. My main concern is collecting all the evidence on time. Is there an option to get an extension to the deadline to return the form or is that fixed? Could you advise me what first steps I can take to get started on completing my form? I have purchased a subscription which includes the online PIP training. Thanks for your advice.

Hi olly349
Ring the DWP as soon as possible and ask for a two-week extension. This will automatically be granted. You don't have to explain anything - other than say you need more time. Thousands of people ask for this.
If you find you are still struggling to meet the new deadline, contact them well in advance to request a further extension. A further extension is not a given, and it often depends on who you speak to.
Have a look at the Guide to PIP Claims and Reviews. It's a large document - but you can start at page 132 on how to complete the review form.
Once you've started if you have any questions come back and ask and we will try to help

Hi BIS, thank you for your advice. I have been granted a 4 week extension to return my PIP form. I have a meeting with my social worker tomorrow and my doctor next week to talk about my PIP review. I am unsure what to ask in the meetings. I wonder whether you could advise me on what questions to ask in the meetings? There is space in the form for supporting evidence so should I ask for a supporting letters from my social worker and doctor? Are there any resources in the guides on benefits and work which cover who to talk to and what to talk about when preparing to complete a PIP review form and when looking to gather supporting evidence? Thanks again for your help.
