Unfortunately, the state pension is classed as a benefit, and has since 1946:
"The UK State Pension has been legally classified as a contributory benefit since its inception under the National Insurance Act 1946, which first took effect in 1948."

I have a Gov One login, but can`t work out how to get PIP letters; could you amplify please.
