This caught my attention as I am now a pensioner in receipt of pension credit. Looking at the paperwork which explains how it has been worked out I can see I am getting the premium because I am severely disabled. They add that amount to the state pension amount and from that total make deductions for savings over 10k. So in my case I only get pension credit because of my PIP award.
