Here we go again another UC review. was created by Onyx123
The last UC review lasted 14 months and I don't want a repeat of that. I see these UC reviews as harassment and also they can check all your movements by your bank account. To mitigate that I pay 99% of spending by cash.

I will be very prepared this time with answers wrote down detailing to account for any money. I am sure the last review they escalated and wanted us to account back to the start of the claim because they thought they could catch us out as for doing something wrong. But at the end of the review they owed us £1200.

The savings to declare gets very complicated because people have to understand what is a disregard, and what isn't. I suspect this has happened because a £3000 disregard ended in July.

To complicate matters I am going away for a week at the end of the month and will need to tell them I am not available between certain dates. Booking the holiday only a week for a large chunk of money and spending money they will probably try and make out it was deliberate to lower savings but it was before the review.

I have Parkinson's, COPD and multilevel spine degenerative disease with other issues. So if they think they will find money going in that shouldn't be because of some earnings they will be disappointed. Considering the last review lasted 14 months they already know the financial in and out of our lives.

What makes me happy is I will get the state pension next year and I will come off UC. The only part of UC we get is the ESA element of UC and Nothing else. My wife works.

Talk about having to prove you are innocent. It is like living in a communist state in the UK.

Hi Onyx123

I am sorry about the stress you and all others experience now with the compulsory yearly UC Automated review.
One thing to be aware of is if you reach the State Pension age then to come off UC your wife also has to be over State Pension age. Is that the case or will you then have too much income as a couple to qualify for UC ?
