Hi Micheal,
Just adds to the lottery of the new system in place in that we cannot form an opinion of this third party then.
Although having said that thier seems to be plenty of negative judgement around, and indeed on this paticular thread.
regards A.

I'm sure you would not like the site to be closed down, as others have, so I have taken a subjective decision to edit.

Am due to see gp next week, should i print off pdf esa 113 show it to her? Know what would happen, don't worry about it. Well i am worried. Has anyone given a gp one of these? Bit concerned about the violent and threatening behaviour about the register some patients could be on. What is that? Could the GP mention that the patient is on the severe and enduring mental health register? I did on my DLA forms. At least the GP told me, apparently is govt guidelines to make sure the GP is treating us as a lot of people with mental health issues are not in secondary care.

Hi Article
This is what Atos think of GPs (from page 35 of the WCA handbook).2.7.2 The Role of the Atos Healthcare HCP
Atos Healthcare practitioners are specifically trained in the assessment of disability.
It doesn't help them when you give one page of guidance, advising to 'fill in the form in the usual way'!!!
Fortunately they don't say what they think of claimants, although you can probably guess.
Regards
Derek
Apparently all this training in the assessment of disability is obtained in 17 days according to the FAQs !!!

am i right in thinking that the "severe & enduring mental health register" is a register that some surgeries keep of their patients that fall into that catagory, but not all surgeries have to keep. some surgeries just find it helpfull?

I have just finished working as a Nurse Practitioner in primary care. I can confirm that GPs are given a little extra money for keeping a register of their patients with severe mental health problems (and providing a certain level of care to these patients), so most of them choose to do so!
