The comments from people who have not received their £150 disability cost of living payment have slowed to a trickle, so we’re now asking if you have received your second cost of living payment.

The target for payments was between 8 and 23 November, except for tax credit claimants who should be paid between 23 and 30 November.

The second cost of living payment is the £324 sum that follows on from the £326 that was paid in July 2022.

You may get a payment if you receive any of the following benefits:

  • Universal Credit
  • income-based Jobseeker’s Allowance (JSA)
  • income-related Employment and Support Allowance (ESA)
  • Income Support
  • Pension Credit
  • Child Tax Credit
  • Working Tax Credit

You will not get a payment if you get New Style Employment and Support Allowance, contributory Employment and Support Allowance, or New Style Jobseeker’s Allowance, unless you get Universal Credit.

For UC you will be eligible if you were entitled to a payment (or later found to be entitled to a payment) of Universal Credit for an assessment period that ended in the period 26 August 2022 to 25 September 2022.

For income-based JSA, income-based ESA, Income Support and Pension Credit you will be eligible if

you were entitled to a payment (or later found to be entitled to a payment) of income-based JSA, income-related ESA, Income Support or Pension Credit for any day in the period 26 August 2022 to 25 September 2022.

There’s more details about eligibility on this gov.uk page

Missing payments

The same page also says that if you don’t receive your payment you can complete the missing payments form here.

At the time of writing the missing payments form page actually says that it is for the £150 payment, but hopefully they will update that information soon.

Let us know in the comments section below whether you have received your payment or not.

I have had my second cost of living payment, thankfully, however I still HAVE NOT received the £150 disability cost of living payment.
I receive ESA. And I'm 63 with a retirement age of 66, so I should avoid the "migration" to UC. This is good mostly but it does mean I can't move out of my current Housing Benefit LDC area, which is not so good. (I could actually move, if I could afford to go FIVE WEEKS WITH ABSOLUTELY ZERO INCOME, but there is no way I could do that. It still staggers me that they have got away with this change, from THREE DAYS, "waiting time", to FIVE WEEKS!).

I received the second cost of living payment on 14th November and was very relieved I would not need to chase it up with DWP.

I have had all of my payments on time, I am really shocked it seemed to go smoothly for me,
I am dreading my PIP renewal when it’s due and I need to move my son from DLA to PIP next year as well, it’s all so stressful

I’ve had my second COL payment on the 8th Nov. I’m from Suffolk so, I wonder if my area’s DWP is more organised?

I got the 1st one in July pretty prompt. I got £150 which was apparently A Cost Of Living payment. Don’t know if I was meant to get it.

My son and I have received the Disability payment and the second COL payment. I'm on pension and PIP. My son is on DLA and UC - not expected to look for work etc.

I am on pip and esa support group seem not to have had £150.00 payment or cost of living payments. Have looked into bank account and no extra monies paid either as part of regular payment or not

@Dee I am on ESA support group. I did get the Cost of Living £150.00 payment. I’m not sure if I was meant to get it. It might’ve been for contributions based ESA only. I’m kind of hoping they haven’t made a mistake.
I wish I could answer you better. I am finding this stuff pretty confusing to be honest.

Me and my wife had an overlap in payments of wages and uc so conveniently opted to have set the payment for that month. So £326 down this month . Merry Christmas Dwp

I still do not understand why people in ESA contribution based are not eligible for the £650 payment.  I have asked this question on numerous sites where benefits have been discussed and no one has answered, or not been able to answer or this question is always ignored.
The nearest I have got to an answer is a guess that the DWP feel that people in ESA (CB) are better off - this is something I would vehemently dispute in my case.
    So Please can someone anser

@David Hi David, I'm in the same position as you, and unable to get answers. I'm now divorced so only getting contribution ESA allowance and PIP. I'm unable to claim any other benefit, yet income based ESA can claim many other benefits!!
No one seems to have any answers for this. Even Martin Lewis on TV last evening couldn't answer this question from some one phoning in!!!

@David I totally agree with you but haven't got any answers for you.
I would also like to know why my contribution ESA has never gone up in over 30 years!! I have queried this and I still don't understand.

@David Understand your pain, feel because we were employed in the past now being discriminated against.
