Hi,
I have now received my MR result and my award has stayed the same, I was in fear of loosing everything, so glad that did not happen
Just deciding now whether I have the nerves to carry on to appeal.

Recently I had a ophthalmologist appointment who confirmed that I have narrow angle closure and need laser treatment within the next couple of weeks which will put a small hole in each eye to help with fluid drainage. My argument has always been I can do things but not reliable enough to remain safe e.g. Crossing the road, chopping food etc. Would this new diagnosis help me at the appeal even though it is new evidence. I appreciate it is how our disabilities affect us, but without proof I have found difficult to get DWP to accept what I have written.

Thank you for your help.

You need this new diagnosis to make it clear that you were suffering from the problem when you were assessed or you risk it being excluded from any appeal.

I you are going with reliability then make sure you understand the criteria for this, you also need to explain why aids would not be of assistance.

There are links to the SSCS1 that you need to complete are in the PIP MR & Appeal guide, there are also instructions on how to complete the form, you do not need to go into detail as to why your are appealing on the form.
