Can my consultant in his supporting letter just focus on how I am alone doing the activity or do I need him to provide the evidence of when I need prompting or assistance and how I receive this?
(Most of time, I am alone with nobody to help so difficult to know what is to be written)

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Cruella
They can write whatever they think is appropriate.

Thank you, do you think if find an activity distressful enough to have to refrain from doing it almost all the time, means OPD?

You can certainly argue this but it will only have traction on those activities where OPD is specifically mentioned.

How do people make sure their consultants write good supporting letters?
My consultant redoes old letters, and says if it isn't sufficient and I lose my award that we just have to go to appeal.
But emotionally I could not cope with an appeal, and I could not cope with losing PIP income, plus I think I would end up on UC if this PIP Review fails. (currently have severe disability premium and soon new H/B claim) I think I would be worse off by about 600 pounds a month.
What is the best way to ensure good, accurate, up to date, thorough info goes into a consultant's supporting letter for a benefit?
I assume I cant write to him and say 'please write this' ???

Hi Cruella
It is impossible to guarantee that your consultant will write a letter that exactly satisfies the DWP. Having said that some consultants are very helpful and I have always presented them with the letter I want and ask them to write a version of it. They always come back with the same letter, but I have always done this on a face to face meeting.
If you are not going to see the consultant, I would ring the hospital and ask to speak to their secretary, explain what you need and either dictate a short bulleted list of things you would like mentioned in the letter or say that you are going to send it in and send it to the secretary asking them to get it actioned. Don't go overboard. in the points, you ask for. Confirming your condition, how it manifests itself and prognosis are the most useful and the impact this condition has on you.
