Take away the MR situation, I have been duped, I didn’t realise the solicitors involved in the leap process where no win no fee people, can someone fill me in on this?

Hi Loubylou

Your question is outside the scope of the forum. No win no fee is where solicitors take a case and the client only has to pay them if the case is won. The client should be aware beforehand how much the fee will be if the case is won and the amount of the fees can vary from one firm to another.

Personally Loubyloo, if you haven't the oomph due to your health to fight it yourself, and the solicitors have specialist knowledge and resources, why not go with it? As BIS says, check out what you will pay if they win -but if you don't take the case you wont get anything, and with no win no fee you may get a considerable amount.
This kind of deal means the solicitors are clearly motivated to try as hard as possible to a] win and b] get as much as possible which you will then gain from. I'm not a lawyer but I don't think no-win no fee is necessarily duping, please let us know how you get on,
Denby

Dear Denby/BIS,

Thank you for your responses, I am so sorry it’s taken this long to write back.

I only went on this venture as b&w were looking for cases to take forward, I was willing to go ahead on principle.

I assumed that as b&w were involved, they would not be vultures but people who actually cared and were looking to help people wronged by the system.

I was assigned a lawyer at the beginning, and at first she seemed engaging, it quickly became apparent that she had no knowledge in the benefits system, she then started sending emails saying her children were sick, asking me to send confidential info ie award notices, tribunal decisions etc.

I submitted the above info, being informed that my case was time limited to the 11th January.
I submitted everything to get an email back saying she couldn’t make it out?
I resent it and also sent it to a friend who works in IT, he could see every document I sent clearly.

She never wrote back after I submitted the info she requested a 2nd time.

So thank you B&W, you tried so hard to get these cases heard, but unfortunately the lawyers you were in contact with have zero interest, honestly the person I spoke to ( had more info about her kids rubber duck in the bath).

I am just more concerned this person has all this sensitive data on me and what is she doing with it?
