hey guys
good news, I finally got the assessment completed today by CAPITA, third time lucky
the assessor said that a lot of people have complained about appointments being cancelled without there knowledge and had been raised, but am glad to have had it over and done with, wrote a 2 page letter of complaint last week an all.
Anyhow , it went really well, the assessor was a male very understand and listened to everything I said carefully.
He asked the following questions:
My medical conditions and a copy of my prescritption
How long i've had these conditions and how the effect me
& a normal day to day life, from waking up , to getting change , hobbies and how I find sleeping
also how i get to and from work and how far I can walk, if I am able to cook by myself and how I find washing and how far I can walk
I presented letters documents which went into a lot of detail and explained how my conditions effect me, therefore he goes that, there was no need to do a physical assessment and the letter covered everything they need, is this a good thing ??
My back was really bad and he saw how uncomfortable I was sitting down, it lasted around 30-45 mins approx and he turned up nearly 2 hours early. It was arranged for 4pm and he arrived at 2.15
He said I meet the basic criteria about having the condition for more then 3 months and more then 9 months after the application is submitted, something like that
Thought i'd let you all know how it went, fingers crossed I get the outcome I want
Thanks for all your help

Hi w,
I am glad to hear this.
It is difficult to make any assumptions from verbal comments made by the assessing HCP.
The important issue is what the HCP has written in his report.
It's good that it seemed to go well though, now for the decision.
Don't be surprised if this takes some time to come through, as if you look across the forums on the net, many claimants are suffering delays with the assessment itself, and then in being informed of the subsequent decision.
Here's wishing you the best of luck for a positive outcome.
I am sure that you will keep us updated.

I definitely keep you all updated
My main worry was that the HCP would not want to listen and try to twist my words, reading horror stories online, but he seemed to really care and understand what I was saying. He was writing everything with pen and paper and said he'll do a full report when he gets back to the office.
I just hope I don't need to go down the appeal route like I did with the DLA and then give up, because it was too much.
Thanks again for all your support!
