Do supply 35 hours or more of care a week?
Do you earn less than £110 per week after deductions?

Yes, I do supply much more than 35 Hours of care per week, in effect I have been an unpaid Carer for a LONG time, but under the old DLA rules my Wife only recieved the lower rate of care, so I wasn't eligible for anything, but now we have just won our appeal, I am looking at my options. It seems that some of my Wife's Benefit may be seriously affected if I apply, which is a worry, especially as she recieves the Disability Income Guarantee payment in her ESA, and she is in the support group as well, and I don't really want to rock the boat on that one again. We also recieve Full Council Tax relief too, which once again, I'm a bit worried about losing out on that one,due to applying for the Carers Allowance. BTW....I recieve NO income at all per week.... ......So am a bit confused as to what to do here Gordon...
Thanks Again....

Mr Roy
Your claiming CA will not effect your wife's ESA unless she is receiving the Severe Disability Premium, however, your CA will be treated as income and deducted from her ESA but she will then receive a Carers Premium so, there will still be a net increase in your benefits.
You can put your information in to one of the online benefit calculators to see how things will change.

Well Gordon......
I think my claim for a Carers Allowance will have to wait a while, as we just got a letter from the DWP telling us they have applied to the HMCTS for a correction to the decision the tribunal made, and no benefit will now be paid to us until they get a corrected decision.......
I started a new thread on this earlier today BTW.........
