Declaring tenant was created by Inspector
My 76 year old MIL receives the lower rate of DLA care and Higher Mobility.

She also receives mortgage relief/aid, Universal Credit and Income Support, and old age pension.

Her son has moved back in to the house and although he does not pay rent, he is in full time employment and has his mail delivered there.

Is my MIL obliged to declare this? What are the implications of not advising DWP?

I am concerned she will get in to trouble.

Regards

I think you need to check what benefits she is receiving as UC and IS are working age benefits and are also mutually exclusive! Is she receiving Pension Credit?

From your post the son is a non-dependant so should not effect her benefits, but as you are unclear about what she is receiving I can't state this for certain.
