Its been awhile ... still waiting for Appeal hearing date.
Current SoE ends Feb 2026. I am concerned that this will mean the Motability lease will be impacted too, while we wait for Appeal hearing.
Does anyone know for sure what happens in this scenario ? ... eg PIP continues until hearing outcome? we have to return car and end lease? some other outcome ?
Just another day navigating the timeless road of PIP processing 😕 🚗

Hi Sum
You PIP will end when a decision is made, if you appeal the decision and you are successful then it will be backdated to the date of the decision..
.
When your PIP ends you will lose your Motability car, I would contact them and explain what is happening, they will be able explain what happens in your situation.

i contacted Motability 1st .
The Agent confirmed with DWP, while on chat with me, the status of the PIP award, so thats good. Agent said i should contact PIP and request a renewal pack ?!
I called PIP next ....4x call attempts and 60mins later .... spoke to a first tier agent. didnt seem too sure of the advice and after afew holds was put through unannounced to a case mgr in Yorkshire .... rinse and repeat the reason for call... blah blah
Bottom line .... CM adv that the PIP will be extended for 1 year given the situation and pending decision.
its a relief on one hand, but perhaps also an indication /acknowledgement of the waiting time ahead for a appeal hearing 😕
