Esa contribution based overpaid was created by Saffron5
My public service pension, has recalculated my pension because of the mc cloud judgement, a government ruling. This means I have been underpaid for 6 years during this period I have claimed esa contribution based support group.
I am very worried I will get a huge bill for the overpayment even though I in no way lied on my claims and was not aware of this until recently. I have not received any money yet and the final calculations are still being made by the pension people. I will of course notify esa as soon as I have actual figures
I will receive back pay but was hoping to use this for some essential repairs to our house
As this is not my fault what will happen please

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Hi Saffron5
I would recommend you take advice from a pensions expert and afterwards when the amount of pension due has been determined return to us for Benefits advice.

I have spoken to pension people but they won't give advice on benefits, tried a few options but most saying can't advise for this particular situation as it is individual to each person. I have no idea how long this will take to sort out

Hi Saffron5
There are 2 separate issues here, one firstly involving your pension entitlement and secondly and subsequently involving your Benefits entitlement. So you will need to let us know what are the options for you regarding the pension before we can advise on Benefits. We cannot advise on the tax implications of a pension decision.

Potentially an extra £250 a month and 20,000 back pay but I don't have actual figures yet
Our house is in a terrible state mould damp, leaking bathroom, drafty windows and doors.... We would really like to use the back pay to work on the house but just so worried

Hi Saffron5
If you received a pension lump sum of £20k all your means tested Benefits would end. That is why you need advice from a pensions expert regarding how they release the amount owing.
You may have to pay for professional advice rather than relying on the voluntary services.
