Pregnant womanPregnant women whose baby is due on or after 6 April 2009 can get a new grant of £190 if they meet some simple conditions.

To qualify for the new Health in Pregnancy grant you just need to show that:

You are 25 weeks pregnant or more
Your expected due date is 6 April 2009 or later
You have been given health advice from a midwife or doctor.

You will receive a payment of £190 direct into your bank account.  It won’t affect any other benefits you receive and isn’t means-tested.

Apply by getting a signed claim form from your midwife or doctor and then sending it to HMRC within 31 days of the signature.
