Have you tried to get face to face advice? Do an internet search for "welfare advice" with your postcode, town or county.

There are clearly issues with how you have explained your limitations on the PIP2 form for you have to have scored zero points, but it is going to be difficult for us to offer sensible advice on the forum due to the level of interaction that would be needed, an advisor looking at your paperwork and able to discuss it with you.

I have found somebody who was advertised as a being able to help with PIP appeals and I have an appointment next thurs. Being on here has given me the courage so I thank you :)
In your personal opinion do you think it's wrong that I was scored zero points?

Hi K

I think from what you have posted on here it was wrong to award you zero points but it is very, very important to have evidence which supports what you put on the form. Your new GP needs to see the decision maker and HCA reports which say why you were awarded zero points. Then you need to say what points you should have been awarded and why. Then the GP needs to support that in the letter.
Do you have a statement from your partner? He needs to do a detailed statement of how you are affected day to day and everything that he does for you. Do you have any other family members or carers? Any consultant/specialist for any of your medical problems?
You could submit a request to your GP practice to see your medical file and get copies of anything that you think is relevant or helpful concerning diagnoses, treatments, symptoms, etc.
I know all this is incredibly dificult but you are entitled to that money and the support it provides you and your family.
If the decision maker says nothing affects your ability to do the activities you have to prove that there is plenty that does. As Gordon says we can't provide the level of help you need on this forum but take everything we have given you to the advisor you are seeing. They may even be members. Or they could subscribe.

You actually brought a tear to my eye. Someone other than my partner etc who understands. My mother has dementia and both my self and partner are in the process of moving in with her. My partner does EVERYTHING for us both and without that money we can't survive. I attended sessions for cbt earlier this year but myself and therapist agreed to not continue at this point as it was impossible to find someone to come with me to appointments and also find someone to watch my mother. My therapist said it wasn't helpful for me at this present time as I had too much to cope with to "work on myself" and to go back when things had settled at home. I was apprehensive to go to her as I didn't want my home situation brought up and was afraid she would say we couldn't continue because of it. My gp is useless. When I told him about pip he told me to go and get a job. I have only seen him twice about myself and one of those times it was because I couldn't cope with suicidal thoughts, and that's when he set up CBT. So he is of no help and has actually made me feel worse. How do I go about obtaining my medical records? As it seems I will have to do it all myself.

Hi K

The DWP will never understand ordinary peoples lives and what they go through.

I think you should consider changing GP. I know its another hassle but you could try ringing around and looking for a GP who understands your issues. I was incredibly lucky when I moved 2 and a half years ago and found a GP at the local practice who specialised in pain. He has changed my life. The practice in general is excellent but he is the icing on the cake. Maybe if you rang around and asked if the practice had a GP interested in your issues you might find one.

If you do it yourself the info is here for getting your medical records

Thank you Foss, if I had an understanding GP I feel my life would change too. I may look into changing soon. For now I think I will get my own records and ask people to write statements for me. Does anybody know what the percentage is of successful tribunals? Am I wasting my time and making myself more ill by appealing? Has anybody had successful PIP on mental health?
