WELSHGRL'S PIP THREAD!

He's been excused a face to face assessment so that is one stress out of the way but now I am worrying about this letter. Is it common? Is there a delay because they are querying the assessors report or is it just backlog?
I have requested the PA4 over a week ago but was told it could take up to 14 days to arrive.
The whole process has been so stressful, I just want to over now

Hi wg,
Not the norm, but we have seen more of this lately !!
The whole PIP Assessment Process has been slowing down since New Year, unsurprisingly due to the sheer volume of DLA recipients that they are trying to transfer over.
I can only see the delays getting worse, which will lead to more PIP paper based assessments !!
Exactly the same thing happened with the national roll out of IB, IS and SDA transfers to ESA.
We also saw a rise in paper based assessments with that.
This was supposed to have been completed by Spring 2014, but there are still claimant's who have yet to be transferred over to ESA !
I believe the medical report produced on a paper based assessment is a PA3 rather than a PA4 where a F2F takes place.

There was no time scale on the letter either so we cannot even second guess when a decision will be finalised.
Hopefully, paper based assessment won't go against us!

We were told just over 2 weeks ago that my partner won't need a face to face so we requested his assessment report.
Last week we had a letter from the DWP saying they had all the evidence to go ahead but sorry it was taking longer than expected.
No report has arrived so I phoned up the helpline to query and it has not even been sent out. They said that we cannot see it until the DM has made their decisions!
Is this right? I thought we had a right to see it within 28 days?
Thanks

I'm afraid it is at the discretion of the office whether to send it out or not before the Decision is made, most PIP departments are releasing the report, but some aren't.
ESA reports are never sent out in advance of the Decision and where a PIP ones is, the Decision Maker has not been prepared to accept additional information before the Decision is made.
