How detailed should the GP letter be? We have received just one sheet of paper that outlines my partner's disabilities and this is despite paying for it.
Will the DWP expect something more in depth? We have a letter to come from a hospital consultant and have requested copies of medical notes and prescriptions.
Thanks

Hi
I'm afraid this will be woefully inadequate. Your GP needs to explain in detail how his conditions affect him when trying to undertake the activities on the claim form. This would probably be best achieved by taking in the claim form and sitting down with the GP to go through them.

Thanks,
There is no way our GP will sit down and do a detailed report, he is lazy to be honest and at nearly 70 I think he is just muddling his way through.I also suspect it's his secretary that has written this!
Its a letter just confirming my partner's conditions and naming his hospital consultants.
Maybe one of them will do a better job.
::Sigh::

Once the medical evidence has been sent in to PIP - the GP letter, other consultant's letters etc... do you have to wait for the DWP to contact them to confirm they wrote the letters before the rest of the process goes ahead?
Its just my Consultant is having 2 months leave from Monday and is going to India.
Will the process be delayed until he returns?
Thanks

No the DWP will not confirm the authenticity of the letters, by signing the PIP2 for you have attested that the information that you have provided is true and accurate to the best of your ability.

Hi
I made a point of mentioning in my MR letter that when I had signed the PIP2 I did so, not just for DWP requirements, but in order to confirm any statements I made were truthful, and the DWP should be fully aware I take the matter of signing the letter very seriously in relation to what I said. In other words, I would never have sign it, if, in returning my PIP2, it contained a pack of lies.
When signing my MR letter I again made this point.
