Hi all,
Just a few positives from my case so far which have cheered me up.
I've gone through all the negatives but now I can see the other side.
I got my paper based assessment. Tick
I kept the award which I aimed for and was happy with. Tick
I kept my higher mobility component to take me into retirement. So if I carry on with a new review (assuming there is another one which I'm currently fighting against) I will keep this if I still satisfy the criteria. Tick
It just helps to focus on these points for now.
Regards,
Phrank.

Hi all,
Just a thought, if the worse came to the worse and my 18 month review time stayed the same, would I be correct in saying it won't be a review but a renewal?
If so I guess it's a more complicated process presumably with a more in-depth form to fill out. Now that would definitely put me off if so.
Any feedback as usual would be appreciated.

Phrank.

Hi phrank
Whether a new award will require a renewal or a reassessment will depend on the length of the award, if it for less than two years (a short award) then it will be a renewal, if more (a long award) then a reassessment, two year awards can go either way. Although much has been made of awards made by a Tribunal it whether it is classed as short that determines how the DWP deal with it.
However, it is important to understand, this is all a construct by the DWP, the PIP legislation makes no mention of any of this and all Fixed Term awards end on their End Date unless a new award supersedes them or the DWP extends the award.
