BLASTED REASSESSMENT'S ARRIVED

Hi all
Wondering if any Mod’s have time to clarify something for me please.
Recent GP appointment had GP trying to reassure me and keep my pecker up whilst, as with so many of us, in a state whilst waiting for decision.
She told me that she would just issue me with a Certificate to keep the payments coming in, however, a little voice in my head’s telling me that it might not apply in my case on account of the fact that I would not qualify for ESA IR nor JSA. I think possibly my only saving grace would be the 365 days in WRAG.
So basically, in view of the above (which I hope makes sense to the Mod’s), would Certificates issued by GP provide me with a financial stay of execution, or, in my case, would it be futile, in the event of me failing my reassessment?
Many thanks for your time and patience.

Hi p,
If you were placed into The WRAG, you would not need Medical Certificates (fit notes) !!
If you requested an MR of The WRAG Award, you would still receive WRAG rate whilst the MR/Appeal was ongoing.
If you were found fit for work, new medical certificates would not mean that your ESA would continue whilst going through the MR process.
If you needed some income through the MR process you could claim JSA with reduced conditionality to your Job Seekers Agreement.
If you were to request an MR as above, you would still need to obtain fit notes, but keep hold of them until you had moved on to the appeal stage.
Have a read through : This Post
In short, I don't know "what" this "Certificate" is that they speak of " to keep the payments coming in"
Maybe they are not aware of the changes made where you now have to request an MR of a fit for work decision, and no ESA is payable throughout The MR process ???
It is not going to help you worrying about what "may" happen, wait for the decision and then we will advise further !!!

I hear what you're saying and won't post again, until I have been contacted by DWP.............................................I wish that I could control my anxiety levels better, part of my diagnosis.
Kind regards

Anyway, I think what I’m reading in the letter (X2) I received today from DWP is telling me that I’m in SUPPORT GROUP?
It reads:
YOUR CLAIM FOR EMPLOYMENT AND SUPPORT ALLOWANCE
A CHANGE IN THE EMPLOYMENT AND SUPPORT ALLOWANCE RATE PAYABLE
We have looked at your claim again following a recent change.
From 11 April 2016 the rates of some Social Security benefits may change.
From 11 March 2016 your ESA will be £XXX.XX a week. (I’ve omitted the amount)
This is because of :
A decision on your capability for work. You have been placed in the Support Group
You meet the eligibility criteria for SG. This means you are not required to take part in any work related activity, although you can volunteer………………………………................
SO IF I’VE READ THAT BIT CORRECTLY AND AM IN SG……………….HEARTFELT THANKS TO ALL ON B&W FOR YOUR TIME, PATIENCE AND GUIDANCE.
HOWEVER, the last sentence on the last page giving financial breakdown of amount reads……………
THE AMOUNTS ON THIS PAGE APPLY FROM 11 MARCH 2016 TO 1 DECEMBER 2016.
Do you, therefore, think it’s possible that my award is likely to throw another ESA50 at me in Sept/Oct 2016? Thus making it only a 6 month award?
Please could you remind me what it is I need to be asking them for that will clarify for me in writing, the length of my award and how they came to their decision?
Thanks again for your patience. Naturally, if I’m in SG I’m thrilled because I worked so hard on it, however, 6 months hardly gives time to get my breath back.
Kind regards
P

As the letter refers to payments prior to 11 April and a Change of Circumstances then I think it is an award letter and you are in the Support Group.
The date in December is an administrative date related to the payment of the Christmas Bonus and is not reflective of when your award will be re-assessed except by coincidence. If you want to find out when you are likely to be re-assessed give the DWP a call there should be an entry on the ESA computer system.
Many congratulations on the award.
