A Fit for Work Decision would be notified immediately, albeit through the post, ESA is paid fortnightly in arrears so there will no issue of overpayment.

If you need to return the form without your evidence or with a partially completed form then write a short letter explaining what you have done and include this with the ESA50.
As soon as everything is complete send it on to Maximus (aka HAAS aka CHDA) with another covering letter to the same address as the form and a copy to the DWP office that is dealing with your claim, marked for the attention of the Decision Maker. Finally take a copy of everything to the assessment if you have one and ask the assessor to read it before they proceed with the interview.
Sending Documents to the DWP or Maximus, ATOS or Capita

You’re a gem G
Didn’t realise that if I get called in for medical assessment I can ask/insist that the HCA reads it before proceeding!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Years ago, I had to strip down to my undies, with a male examiner (I’m female), was so terribly distressed, but in those days, I didn’t even know that I could have insisted on a female examiner………..it’s criminal!
When I’ve read before on B&W re: SENDING A COPY OF ESA & EVIDENCE TO DECISION MAKER, AS WELL AS TO ADDRESS THE ENVELOPE SAYS that comes with ESA50.……………………So does that mean that, I address the original form and evidence to the address that the pre-paid envelope came with. I then another full set of copies of same to JC+ address that’s on my letters that tell me about amount of my benefit, xmas bonus etc, and address it to the DECISION MAKER?????????
Get confused…….Am desperately trying to get it posted by midday Thurs 18th…………………..so unfair, it arrived on a Friday and has to be in by Monday 22, in effect losing a week!!!!!!!!!!!!
Apologies to all for any repetitions, the ticking deadline clock only compounds my anxiety and stress probs……………..like so many others.
Hearfelt thanks for your time and patience.

Hi p,
If you want to post a copy of your ESA50 + evidence to The DWP ESA DM as well as the one to Maximus, you should address that : FAO : The ESA Decision Maker (DM) at the address of The DWP Benefits Office/Centre on your most recent ESA letter.
You do realise that this is an option rather than an obligation as a "Back-up" !!
Obviously the ESA50 + evidence that you are returning to Maximus should be posted in the envelope that you received through the post, or in another envelope/package with exactly the same address written on it.
If you feel that you will need to submit further evidence after posting your ESA50 to Maximus so that it will arrive back by the deadline, keep a note of the return address on the pre paid envelope and post any other evidence to that address ASAP, with a covering letter as Gordon has suggested.
Sending Documents to the DWP, ATOS, Capita or Maximus.
ESA50 too big for the envelope

Don't forget that any extra copy that you choose to send to DWP does not have to be submitted in the same time frame as the 'official' copy that you are sending to Maximus. Get the 'official' one in on schedule and the copy to DWP can be sent in your own time.
