PIP timings? was created by bassettsfarm
Hi everyone,

I wonder if anyone can help?

My current PIP runs until August 14th 2016. I was sent forms to re-apply, which I completed and sent back. I received a text message on June 9th to say they had received my form, and if they needed me to see someone, they'd be in touch. I haven't heard anything since.

Is there going to be enough time for me to get an appointment for a f2f, then for them to make their decision, all before August 14th? Or should I ring - would that even do any good, to try to chivvy them along?

Thank you
Amanda

Hi Amanda,

I must admit that you are the first person I have heard from whose PIP reassessment was not commenced a full year before the award is due to end! This means that I have no experience to share regarding what will happen if you get near to the end of the PIP.

I'm afraid I think you need to contact DWP and ask them what is happening/will happen.

Thank you Mrs H.

I was awarded for 2 years, but at an appeal, and that was in August 2015 - so backdated from August 2014 to August 2016. When I was awarded, I did wonder if the reassessment would start about a week after I'd actually won the tribunal. But the dreaded letter came in May this year, with forms being returned by 9th June.

I dread any contact with them, but will have to contact them I guess.

I'll keep you posted.

I'm afraid your current award will end on the date specified, providing that you supply all of the information request on time then I would expect any new award to start from the day after that date.

Hi Gordon,
I thought that your DLA payment continued until a decision had been made on your PIP application even if this meant that you continued to get paid after your DLA award would have normally expired.

That's correct but the OP is receiving PIP not DLA!
