Hello Everyone,
I just wanted to update my status. I rang this morning to see what is happening with my case, as my current award finishes on 10th August 2016.
Although pleasant enough, the lady I spoke to wasn't really helpful at all - she just kept repeating that my case is following the same procedure as everyone else's, and that I might be needed to go for an interview, but it's with the health assessor people at the moment, and that currently, it's taking about 7 weeks for them to contact people. She just kept saying that I must have received a letter earlier, so I told her the dates I had received my first letter (inviting me to reapply) and she said but we sent you a reminder on May 28th - so I said that the date I needed to return the forms by with 9th June, and I had done - I still had the text telling me they had received the forms. She just said I have to wait, there was nothing else she could do.
So, I guess I shall have to wait, and then my current award will stop, and so will my help with my rent and I'll be even more stressed than I need to be, because they take so long to sort anything out.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

HI Amanda,
The only other thing I can suggest is to contact your MP and tell him/her how much hardship and anxiety this is causing you
Contacting your MP

Thank you Mrs HB, I hadn't thought of that. I shall certainly do that. It is just awful how the DWP seem to delight in causing extra worry and misery to people.
I'll keep you posted.

Hello again all,
I received an appointment for a F2F - it's for next Thursday, July 21st. I had only just emailed my MP as well - still, I've updated him too. His assistant had emailed me back, asking for my National Insurance number, so that my MP can help me fully. What help can the MP offer, do you know?
Thank you.

The main thing that they can do is get the DWP to expedite your clam, your next challenge will be that PIP Decision are taking around 8 weeks which will still push you past your current date, so you'll need your MP to help get your file looked at as quickly as possible once you have had your assessment.
