Hi Everyone,
I wasn't sure whether to re-post in this topic, or start a new one, but hopefully I've done the right thing!
Anyway, I had my F2F yesterday morning, and I was so anxious and upset. I think I'd got myself in such a state because of the last time I had to endure a F2F and then, subsequently, the tribunal. Fortunately, my Mum came with me, and that helped a little.
The centre is only about 4 or 5 miles away from my home, so the journey wasn't too much of a problem (we got a lift, door to door), and the centre is easily accessible, with only two steps up once you enter the building (there is also an automated step if you need it). The reception staff were absolutely lovely, and could obviously tell that I was upset and anxious - they offered me a cup of tea, or water, and couldn't have been nicer. They kept me informed of how long I would have to wait, of what would happen and how long it would take once I was seen.
The lady who performed the examination was absolutely lovely - she gave me plenty of time to compose myself and checked several times that I was happy to continue. She informed me that she is a specialist nurse in Orthopaedics, so understood how hard it had been for me to attend (one of my many health conditions is osteoarthritis). She was very helpful throughout the questioning, and explained to me that she had read my form and that she knew how I was going to answer most of the questions, but that she needed to hear things in my own words. She went through things with me, and even offered me some advice about going back to my GP about certain things one GP had been particularly unhelpful about. She was most reassuring all the way through, and seemed surprised that I'd had to go to tribunal last time, and that I was currently on standard awards for both daily living and mobility. She then said that she was NOT going to put me through a physical examination as she knew how painful it would be for me. She explained that on the form she would have to initially state that I had declined the physical exam, but that later on in her report she would make it clear that it was HER decision and she would fully explain why. She told me that by the time she had completed her report, the Decision Maker would be in no doubt that I should be awarded PIP. She also said that I should definitely have a blue badge. I didn't have to do any of the taking 7 away from a hundred, or working out how much change from a pound tests that I'd had to do before.
The whole thing was over in around 40 minutes, and she told me that her report would be with the DWP by the end of the day, and that although she had to advise me a decision could take around 6 weeks, that I should start calling them from Wednesday or Thursday next week (as my current award is due to run out on 10th August).
I have just received a text from DWP, informing me that they now have enough information for them to make a decision.
I know that I am prone to worrying, but I am now really stressing out that it was all too pleasant, and that I will end up having to go through the horrors of MR and tribunal again.
I'll keep you posted.

Nothing on this board constitutes legal advice - always consult a professional about specific problems

Thanks Amanda,
PIP decisions are currently taking around 8 weeks after the face2face assessment, although there is some regional variation.

Hi Everyone,
I'm just wondering about something and hoping you can help.
My current award ends on 10th August 2016.
I was invited to reapply in May 2016.
I had my f2f on Thursday last week, July 21st.
If I should be lucky enough to be awarded anything, but it's less or more than my current award, when will that new award apply from? Will it just follow on from my August date, or will it be from the date they wrote to me, or the date I sent the forms back (9th June)? Or, if they saw I'm not entitle to anything - will I end up owing them money, because the assessment has been so close to the end of my current award?
Sorry if I've put that in a really confusing way!

Amanda
I would expect it to apply from the date that the new Decision is made. As PIP is paid in arrears there won't be any requirement for you to repay any monies if the Decision is less favourable.

Hello Everyone,
I hope everyone is well and enjoying the warm weather.
Having had my f2f on July 21st, I was bracing myself for a long wait, and more confusion as my current award (PIP standard daily living and standard mobility) expires on 10th August 2016. However, today I have received the best possible news.
I have been awarded standard daily living and enhanced mobility, until July 2019. I am so pleasantly surprised as I honestly didn't expect to get extra points for mobility. I got 10 points for daily living, and 14 for mobility. To say it's a weight off my mind is an understatement. I have been so stressed, worrying and making myself even more ill.
i just want to thank everyone at this fantastic site for all of the help you provide. I know that I could not have got this result without your help and advice. Thank you.
