Phrank I have already posted it on this thread, but here it is again.

As promised phrank what I think is going on this is Therese Coffey at her finest she just doesn't get the fact that most disabled people can only cope on a day to day basis, meaning a disabled person can maybe only sustain a job by having many more days off than in work?

I agree we can all do something BUT it's a case of how long for? Most employers Won't take on a disabled person knowing the full facts of the disabled person, this will be a case of the claimant being off work rather than in work? Agreed some disabled can hold a full, or part time job but very few.

These Tory's are really living in a dream world if they really think many disabled can even sustain a job let alone get one in the first place?

Also another point from that article that she is looking into is weather to join PIP ESA, UC as one assessment?

This cannot be done. Reasons are PIP is for claimants in and out of work?

This seems a bit contradictory? In part their saying using XYZ.

This is a response from the Government.

1. The Department for Work and Pensions uses functional assessments to help determine entitlement for a number of benefits, including Personal Independence Payments (PIP), Employment and Support Allowance (ESA) and, for those claiming because they have a disability or health condition that impacts on their capability for work, Universal Credit (UC

2. We use a separate assessment to determine entitlement for PIP. Unlike in UC and ESA, PIP aims to help people with the extra costs of a disability or long-term health condition. PIP is paid regardless of income or savings. Once someone has been awarded PIP, which can be paid at one of eight rates, that award will be reviewed. Reviews of PIP are a key part of the benefit to ensure that awards remain correct where needs may change (including where needs increase and the award may need to increase) and that we maintain contact with the individual, both features that were missing from PIP’s predecessor Disability Living Allowance. The length of an award is based on an individual’s circumstances and can vary from nine months to an on-going award, with a light touch review after 10 years.

DWPs own words clearly states.

Believe me when I say this this government just love persecuting the poor and disabled in anyway they can.

When and if I ever get told to get a full time job they will have a fight on their hands you can be assured of that.

The DWP are out to really give claimants a hard time, that's why Therese Coffey is still the Minister, she's been in post now for over two years Boris won't move her because he knows she is going for all claimants throats now. She is carrying on the mantra as IDS and the rest of them have done in the past 11years, yes 11 years?

Why people still vote for this torture by this government is beyond unreal it really is.

The Tories will more than likely get in again as Boris is trying to rig the elections to make it impossible as he can for the people of the UK.

I was formely known as (GoingOffMyHeadWithThisGovernment) Won PIP November 2017 ongoing award HR both. Now kept and got my ESA Support group but took a while.

Hi TGGTF,

I've just read that and it seems to me that the right hand doesn't know what the left one's doing , as is nearly always the case.

As for forcing people back to work who are disabled and cannot hold a full time job down due to whatever reason, it will always be the case.

When my health first started to really deteriorate I was in and out of jobs at an alarming rate. Eventually I ran out of places to work my CV was that bad.

What did I do?

I went to the dreaded call centres, the scourge of the earth. I worked in six and it broke me. I eventually went on to outbound calling (nuisance calling if you like) and it finished me off. So much for work being good for the soul. It has left me permanently scarred.

I truly sympathise with anyone who is in this position. It wasn't just me: the majority of the people who I worked with had similar problems and thus flitted from job to job frequently.

Perhaps this is what Coffey's master plan is.

Excuse me for the rant, but I needed to get that out.

One more thing; the majority of disabled people DO want to work but no government has ever come up with a credible plan to accommodate them.

Regards,

Phrank.

Hi ThisGovernmentsGoneToFar

Good write up, and you speak the truth. Can you just imagine if 100's of 000's of sick/ disabled people ever being taken on by employers, i'd for one would let them read at the interview my multiple disabilities list, prescription list, and evidence from my GP and other specialists who have for years said i can never go back into any employment.

I would then add at the interview, if i was to be employed and i became ill, i'd be suing them for taking on a disabled person with multiple serious longstanding health conditions, which only ever deteriorate.

Most employers would not touch me with a bargepole, as i am, and would be a serious liability in the work place. ie liable to cause harm and injury to myself and others, and also to cause damage to the employers environment.

This is all about DWP kicking off SG claimants, and saving a few bob. They know we are unemployable, It's more than cold hearted, there pulling a right stroke on joe disabled public.

Employers would be for ever being taken to court, costing firms multiple millions for injury to disabled employees.

Coffey just hasn't got a clue, she's in cuckoo land, and needs to wake up and smell the coffee lol, and get her head out of the sand and stop being in denial. You just couldn't make this lot up if your tried.

Good luck to all.

Hi,

Work is not good for the soul, when one has singular and or multiple health conditions, which are serious and ever worsening day by day.

21's century Britain and this is how sick disabled people are treated. Forget for a moment the pandemic, we would all still get a raw deal off the DWP.

The pandemic has given them an extra excuse to grind us into the ground. oh and that new disabled minister, she's a waste of oxygen too.

regards.

The trouble is they cannot admit they got it wrong. The changes started in the 2000s under a Labour government, I believe, so they are all as bad. They were convinced by academics who were linked to an American company that most people claiming benefits were not ill or disabled but frauds and proceeded accordingly. The number of claimants didn’t reduce even with the draconian assessments so couldn’t have been frauds.
The American company was fined millions of dollars in America for fraud on their sickness benefits, I believe. I think I have got this right but am open to correction. Claimants are easy targets and cannot fight back effectively.
Everyone can do some work but it depends on if it's saleable and employers want to buy it.
