The problem with using evidence that is old is that you then have to explain why it is still relevant to the claimant at this new assessment.

On the assumption that nothing has changed because your condition(s) are not likely to improve, then your GP could use the old letter as a template for a new one, which may simplify the process for them.

However, just to remind you, the ESA Descriptors and Regulations were changed in January of this year, so you need to make sure that any comments the GP makes are still relevant.

That's correct. The conditions are basically the same except for new conditions that surfaced around 10 months ago and is not likely to improve at all. Will be worse and have to live with it , and art of old age, the doctor said.

Hi, I am gearing up for the courage to call ATOS to see if the IB113 has been received, posted 6 days ago, as the original medical was set for this Friday. I was informed by the GP's secretary that it was an IB113 and the gp (not my usual one) has put not able to work as 'hypothyoidism' and 'cancer of stomach and kidney' so I have this sick feeling the medical that has been postponed to the end of this month will be on as I have not heard of 'hypothyroidism' was used as the reason for not able to work and the 'cancers' were now in remission. I feel they are better reasons but do not know why the person did not put those down.

I was told to call again this pm (the IB113 was not there yesterday) when my friend called for me to check the above.
Can someone please advise me as to what to ask if she said no letter received yet?
If she said it has been received but no decision, what should I ask?
IF bad news, they have received it and it did not generate a no medical decision, what should I do?

oh, yes, before I could get to see the doctor, the report was done so could not talk to him first.

and I found out that they was no record in my file at the doctor's that a report was done in 2011. I was told the doctor who did that did not keep a record. Can I now ask ATOS for a copy of this medical report by my gp in 2011?

Just to avoid confusion, it will be an ESA113 not an IB113 :)

If ATOS are saying that have not received the ESA113 by the end of the week then you might want to get your GP practice to re-send it, you could ask ATOS for a fax number so that it can be sent directly.

If it has been received but there has been no action on it, then all you can really ask, is when is it likely that there will be.

If has been received and an assessment is required, then other than going back to your GP to see if they can make a more detailed response, there is little you can do, you could try your MP but I think it unlikely that they will be able to help as this is a medical decision.

To remind you, a failure to attend will most likely result in your claim being closed, so you will really need to think about how you might manage this.
