Not sure what topic to put the following under.

What are the likely implications of a claimant moving from the usual place of residence AFTER an assessment date was given?
It would be a move to a different county/area altogether.
Would ATOS set another date in the local centre of the new address or the claimant has to go to the original assessment centre, about 120 miles away?

I do not think there is a clear answer :)

It is unlikely that ATOS will move the appointment of the their own volition, I think it is incumbent on the claimant to notify them and it would likely be treated as one the one cancellation that a claimant is allowed.

If you are thinking of this, a change of address is counted as a Change of Circumstances for all benefits for all benefits so you would need to notify all agencies that you receive benefits from.

Thanks Gordon.

Does it mean that one has to make a new application to the local benefit centre if all agencies (DLA and ESA only) are notified in the event of a change of address (permanent) to another county/area of UK?

What about if it is a temporary move? And what is classify as a temporary move - in terms of length of time?

It is not a new application, you just need to inform them in writing of a change of address.

Most benefits require even a temporary change of address to be notified to the relevant agency.
