Thank you, also regarding my son's food etc, is it okay if I pay for everything in the future, or would the dwp expect to see my son paying his food etc, do you think? Would the dwp dislike me 'keeping ' him as in paying for his food etc, I mean would not charging my son board, and me meeting his food etc expenses be seen as deprivation of capital.? (he might contribute to food etc expenses anyway but just need to know how the dwp likely to view it if he were not contributing)?

It's your money, how you dispose of it will only potentially be an issue if your savings and assets exceed £6000 but maybe not even then.

As a parent, I have to say that I think you should be charging your son for board, you are losing £65/week in income because of him and probably doubling your food bill at the least. But it is your decision and I will say no more on the subject :)

With C/A do you think that they just check that the person who is being cared for is in receipt of PIP daily living in order to award the C/A? Or do they look much more closely into it, I mean do we need to provide details of the care that makes up the 35 hours on the C/A form in the additional notes?

Can they ask, yes! Do they ask, no!

Providing it is credible that your son is providing the 35 hours a week required then I would not expect any additional investigation to be made.

So it isn't necessary really to provide explanation of caring role on the C/A form.
Regarding UC, do you think we need to wait until the C/A has been completely processed before putting in for the UC top up?
I am concerned that if we put in a UC top up claim before the CA is processed that they might not complete the CA and award UC with Carers Element instead
