I can't find a copy of the form but both the CAB and Turn2Us explain what you will be asked about, see
www.citizensadvice.org.uk/benefits/unive...or-universal-credit/
www.turn2us.org.uk/Benefit-guides/Univer...im/Online-claim-form
Yes, he will be asked about being a carer.
If he is applying for UC once the CA is in payment then there will not be an overpayment.
Is your son disabled or unable to work due to illness?
One of the questions is whether the UC claimant is unable to work due to disability or illness, they will need to provide evidence of this via a Fit Note they will then be assessed to see whether they meet the criteria to be placed in the LCW group (equivalent of ESA WRAG) or LCWRA group (ESA Support Group).

My son has claimed the CA, and we were hoping this would suffice as evidence for something else (another matter), but it seems he might need UC as well for evidence for this other matter.
We want to prove he does not have a job income for this other matter.
He does have a disability but he was not thinking of claiming UC on those grounds, he was thinking or is thinking of claiming UC like jobseekers but without the commitment/sanctions because of having carer role.

Being a carer should exclude him from any job search requirement.

We have 4 weeks and 2 days to get our evidence for the other matter, I know it says 5 weeks processing time for UC, but someone said to me that after 4 weeks the UC is processed to the point where it allows you to print off the Award from your journal/computer, and the last week ie the fifth week is when you receive the payment.
Does anyone know if at the end of week 4, you can definitely see the UC claim processed online to print off as an award?

Hi Cruella
Once you had completed your online claim and seen your work coach, it was taking about five weeks to to process your UC claim, in the mean time you could apply for an advanced payment which is recovered from your UC over a year.

I have come across the following web site which gives you an idea as to the questions you will be ask when claiming UC. www.whatdotheyknow.com/request/305969/re...cookie_passthrough=1

So does anyone know if when applying for UC online when it gets to week 4 if you can look online/in your 'application account'/journal can you can see you have been awarded the UC and can you print the page off showing this at week 4 (i know it takes 5 weeks to get the payment)
